Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation (FNRC) has been established as a new government body in the Emirate of Fujairah (U.A.E) by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, according to the emiri decree no 1 of 2009 issued in March 2009. The new body will conduct geological research and surveys for the development of minerals and quarrying as well as oil sectors and utilisation of other natural resources in the emirate

It was in 1982 that Fujairah Rock wool Factory started operations and in the process became the first company to manufacture Rock wool insulation products in the GCC region. Begun with an annual capacity of 5000 metric tons, the factory has since then expanded operations and is today the largest manufacturer of insulation products in the GCC with supplies being sent to, besides the GCC countries, the Middle East, the Far East and the other parts of the World.
