What We Do Family & Childrens Service of Niagara, a private, non-profit family service agency, has been at work in the Niagara community since 1895. The strength of Family & Childrens Service is the network of inter-related and complimentary services reaching people at every age and every stage of life; that is what makes us unique. With offices in Niagara Falls and Lockport we impact the lives of children, adults and families in communities all across Niagara County on a daily basis. How can parents raise children to have a positive relationship with food? to explore and enjoy food with curiosity and pleasure? It starts from day one. Being adequately prepared to handle a baby’s first year of nutrition is key. At Family & Co. Nutrition, we support parents to work together and succeed at infant milestone feeding. We instill equal partnership between parents, accountability, and help infants meet their nutrition milestones to grow optimally. We offer one-on-one nutrition counselling, community workshops, seminars, and online resources via our weekly blog and social media platforms.

The CASA program works give a voice to children who have been subjected to abuse, abandonment and negelct. The majority of whom are under the age of six and the least able to speak on their own behalf. CASA matches a trained volunteer, called a Guardian ad Litem or GAL, with each child. The CASA volunteer provides individualized attention to each child placed in foster care and serves as an objective third party advocate representing the childs needs. Volunteers are seen as the eyes and ears of the child and provide a Court judge with an unbiased opinion of what is in a child's "best interest."

Family Advocates is a nonprofit organization providing services for victims of sexual assault and family/partner abuse. Services include a 24-hour help line (608-348-3838 or 1-800-924-2624), emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, support groups and more. Family Advocates serves residents of Grant, Lafayette and Iowa Counties through offices in each county. All services are free and confidential. Speakers are available for community organizations. Family Advocates, Inc. is dedicated to the eradication of abuse. Prevention and intervention services are provided to victims and survivors of domestic, sexual, child, and elder abuse in Grant, Lafayette and Iowa Counties. Family Advocates provides emergency, temporary shelter for victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence no matter their geographic residence.

Family Advocates works to strengthen families ​and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to protect and enrich the lives of youth. We are a private, independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency founded in 1978. Our Programs: CASA/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Our CASA volunteers show us bravery by investigating child abuse, neglect, and abandonment and then advocating for those children in court to make sure the child’s voice is heard. We recruit, train, and support volunteer child advocates, called Guardians ad Litem, as well as pro-bono attorneys to represent the volunteer, in the Fourth Judicial District (Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley Counties). Family Strengthening Our Family Strengthening volunteers show us bravery by working with families to create strong networks and healthy habits through classes, activities, and more. This program engages children and parents in building their Five Protective Factors and solidifying strong and healthy families. Concrete resources like diapers, wipes, food, and clothing is provided to the families in exchange for attending educational classes like self-care, nutrition, and childhood developmental milestones.
