A Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB) é a primeira instituição de ensino superior do interior do estado de Santa Catarina. Localizada na cidade de Blumenau, constitui-se em uma das principais universidades da região do Vale do Itajaí, estando entre as cinco maiores universidades de Santa Catarina. A fundação mantém ainda a Escola Técnica do Vale do Itajaí (ETEVI) e o Núcleo de Rádio e Televisão Educativa Vale do Itajaí (NRTV), que envolve a FURB TV (filiada ao Canal Futura) e a FURB FM.

Der er også plads til store ambitioner. I Furesø Kommune finder du nogle af landets bedste idrætsklubber. Det gælder fx inden for fodbold, hvor fodboldklubben FC Nordsjælland har til huse på Farum Park. Men også i badminton, basket, sejlsport, ski og roning har vi atleter, der sætter høje mål og henter guldet hjem. I Furesø lægger vi vægt på familieliv i stærke fællesskaber med aktive borgere som bærende kræfter.
