Terbentuknya Financial Market Community Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Padjadjaran (FMC FEB Unpad) berawal dari berdirinya Pojok Bursa Efek Jakarta (Pojok BEJ) di lingkungan Universitas Padjadjaran pada tahun 1996. Pojok BEJ Universitas Padjadjaran diresmikan tepatnya pada 28 September 1996 oleh Presiden Direktur PT Bursa Efek Jakarta, Felia Salim, dan Rektor Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Dr. H. Maman P. Rukmana. Pojok BEJ yang berlokasi di gedung LP3E Universitas Padjadjaran Jalan Cimandiri no. 6 ini merupakan Pojok BEJ kelima yang berdiri di Indonesia setelah Pojok BEJ Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Akademi Widya Wiwaha Jogjakarta, dan Universitas Sumatera Utara. Kehadiran Pojok BEJ Unpad merupakan implementasi dari kerjasama PT Bursa Efek Jakarta dengan dunia pendidikan, dengan tujuan memberikan informasi, mengedukasi, serta mendukung sosialisasi, workshop, serta diskusi-diskusi terkait bursa efek di kalangan mahasiswa. Pojok BEJ difungsikan sebagai “laboratorium” pasar modal di lingkungan kampus. Pojok BEJ selanjutnya dikelola oleh mahasiswa dengan semangat mempelajari serta mengembangkan pengetahuan terkait pasar modal untuk mendukung potensi serta kegiatan pembelajaran. Seiring berjalannya waktu, kepengurusan mahasiswa yang mengelola Pojok BEJ mengalami pergantian nama menjadi Stock Exchange Community (SEC), hingga menjadi Financial Market Community (FMC) yang secara resmi lahir pada 15 Juli 2003. FMC hingga kini terus beroperasi di lingkungan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Padjadjaran sebagai organisasi pembelajaran pasar keuangan yang berjiwa bisnis, dinamis, dan profesional; sebagai lembaga pengembangan potensi para pengurus pada khususnya serta mahasiswa dan masyarakat pada umumnya.
