First Congregational Church is a Christ-centered, nurturing community: Growing in faith, serving in love, welcoming all with joy. The First Congregational Church is led by pastor Will Burhans and is part of the United Church of Christ. The parish is an open and affirming community that accepts all people regardless of race, age, ability, gender, sexual orientation, economic status, ethnicity or religious participation. The church uses inclusive language in its services and is an intergenerational community. Young children can attend weekly church school. The church also strives to help the community by participating in a number of outreach programs. Two of the main areas the church focuses on is trying to end homelessness and to help women, children and teens who are at risk. The First Congregational Church focuses on spiritual wellness with its fellowship program and physical wellness with its Health Ministry program. The Health Ministry promotes healthy living through health promotion activities, health living reminders and health and wellness speakers and programs.
