Fisheries Iceland was founded on the 31st of October 2014. The association merges two former associations in the fishing industry of Iceland, The Federation of Icelandic Fishing Vessel Owners and the Federation of Icelandic Fish Processing Plants. A major purpose of Fisheries Iceland is to increase value creation from a scarce resource. The fishing industry is a competitive industry with high demand for professionals with diverse backgrounds, education, and experience. Fisheries Iceland safeguards the interests of its members and functions as Iceland’s association of companies in the fishing industry.

Local fishermen Bob and Denny Colbert have fished out of the Sandwich Marina for over thirty years. After completing marine engineering degrees at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the brothers fell in love with fishing, and while they began with just a small boat, they now have three large commercial fishing vessels. In August 2015, the two brothers obtained an adjacent piece of land on the Cape Cod Canal and constructed the boat-to-table seafood market, restaurant, bar, and wholesale complex. With a focus on fresh, locally sourced seafood coupled with stunning views of the canal and marina, the brothers hope to give guests a truly unique dining experience and glimpse of modern fishing – Fishermen’s View!

Fisheye publishes the referent contemporary photography print magazine, its web version fisheyemagazine.fr, and other media specialized in photography and high-tech, including labo.fnac.com and lense.fr. The group opened a gallery in Paris presenting the current authors of photography, integrated a video production studio specializing in virtual reality, Fisheye 360, and created in 2015 an agency to help companies in their communication related to images and, since 2018, an enlarger of startups evolving in the world of the image or the culture.
