Inspired by Flossie Donnelly, a 14 year old environmental activist with a passion for protecting marine life and fighting plastic pollution, Flossie and The Beach Cleaners was founded in 2019 to continue spreading her message of hope to young people. It has since became an ever-growing group of marine enthusiasts in Ireland and around the world who care deeply about the ocean and its marine life. We aim to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the damage it's doing to our environment both locally and across the world. We do this by focussing on educating others through our environmental workshops and providing activities like regular beach clean-ups which inspire others to take action. Cleaning up our rivers and oceans is a huge job but we've learned that our children and wider communities have the passion and energy to take it on and we want to do all we can to support them in this challenge!
