Grace Café, located at 219 S. 4th Street in Danville, KY, is a nonprofit, pay-what-you-can community restaurant committed to serving delicious, fresh, locally-sourced, organic-when-possible, highly-nutritious food for everyone in our community regardless of their ability to pay. The first of its kind in Kentucky, Grace Café takes a new and innovative approach to solving hunger and food insecurity by giving everybody in our community access to a locally sourced, fresh, healthy meal. We're supported by in-Café donations, fundraising, and volunteerism. Grace Café offers our neighbors in need a hand up not a hand out by inviting folks to participate in our mission through the daily running of the Café. The Cafés daily changing menu does not have set prices, but rather a suggested donation amount for each item. Folks are asked to either pay and pay-it-forward for the next person, pay-what-you-can, or volunteer for 30 minutes in exchange for a meal. People who can afford to pay-it-forward have the opportunity to help their neighbors; folks who pay-what-you-can have the opportunity to eat a healthy, delicious and locally sourced meal with dignity; and folks with nothing have the opportunity to work in exchange for a meal. Our philosophy is that everyone, regardless of economic status, deserves the chance to eat healthy food while being treated with dignity.

“Our vision is to see the children to a place where they may elevate themselves beyond survival, where they will flourish and have a chance for lives with dignity and purpose” —Nancy Robertson, Founder & CEO 25 YEARS ON THE FRONTLINE Since 1997, the Grace Children’s Foundation (GCF) has been connecting children in need to pro bono and subsidized medical care and essential nonclinical resources through its case-by-case model. This individual based work lays bare the critical problem that there are millions of children globally who have little or no access to medical resources or continuous care. In order to address this inequity, GCF has recently partnered with a team of innovators at Microsoft to evolve and scale up the existing model into the Children’s Resource Exchange (CRE)—an emerging state of the art pediatric healthcare service that will help save the lives of children worldwide. The CRE’s unique integration of human contentiousness with technology will accelerate access to vital healthcare resources through a digital platform, leveraging its network of care, expertise and funding—scaling the solution to the magnitude of the problem. CHILDREN’S RESOURCE EXCHANGE—IN ACTION Now more than ever, there is an urgent need for reliable information and systematic collaboration. While digital platforms are accomplishing things that were unimaginable 20 years ago, it is clear that these innovations have not yet been put to their best use...until now. GCF and its partners are collaborating to modernize the process of coordinating care between medical professionals and others who have the capacity to help children in the US and globally. In 1996, God called Dr. Ron Stewart, former pastor of Grace Baptist Church (1988-2016), to begin a new ministry through the establishment of a Christian school. After two years of preparation and research, the first group of fifty-five students and five staff members were present on the first day of classes on August 17, 1997. During the first few years of its existence, enrollment rapidly increased and as a result, the construction of a new 29-classroom building began in 2000. The same school year, GCA first accomplished accreditation for grades K-8 through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). After moving into the new facility in 2002, GCA completed the accreditation process for high school grades 9-12 during the 2003-04 school year. By the year 2005, to accommodate the ever growing student population, GCA further expanded into a brand new high school facility. Grace Christian Academy is conveniently located on Oak Ridge Highway in the Karns community of west Knoxville, Tennessee.

Stronger than ever, we are expanding the knowledge we impart with new programs, and building upon the rich history that we have built in our 79 years. Over time, we have added graduate programs, online learning, and have grown our undergraduate class. We exist to graduate courageous ambassadors for Christ who make an eternal impact wherever they go, and that great work will continue. This mission is truly at the center of our identity. Learn.
