Grands Formats est une fédération dartistes qui réunit en 2019, 80 grands ensembles et collectifs dartistes professionnels français et européens, représentatifs de la diversité artistique du jazz, des musiques improvisées et dautres esthétiques se réclamant de près ou de loin de ces musiques. Ils sont au total près de 1200 musicien.ne.s, portés par un irrésistible désir musical, réunis pour défendre lexistence et la pérennité de la musique en grande formation et permettre aux publics de vivre une expérience musicale hors-norme ! Initiée par les chefs dorchestres eux-mêmes, la fédération Grands Formats est née en réaction aux nombreux obstacles qui sont le lot de la musique en grande formation. Or les grands ensembles sont des outils de création uniques, porteurs dune histoire et dun héritage artistique précieux, qui connaît aujourdhui de nombreux développements riches et variés. Ils constituent des lieux de vie où se confrontent les idées et où se transmettent les savoirs. Ils portent, dans leur rapport à lart et au monde, la prise de risque et limagination. Cest pour défendre lexistence de ces formes musicales essentielles pour la diversité artistique, constitutive de la richesse de la culture de notre société et mise à mal par un contexte où les logiques marchandes prennent souvent le pas sur la création artistique, que les actions de Grands Formats sarticulent autour de trois grands axes :  - Favoriser la diffusion et la visibilité des adhérents - Développer un pôle dobservation, de ressource et de transmission - Constituer une instance de représentation des artistes et participer à ce titre à la structuration du secteur musical
