The Greater Louisville Medical Society was established in 1892 by physicians in Louisville who sought to unite with their colleagues on a local level. The society has a rich tradition of promoting the science, art, and profession of medicine, protecting the patient-physician relationship, and advocating for the health and well-being of the community. GLMS has countless member benefits. Not only does the Society offer an Annual Pictorial Roster – the #1 independent networking and referral source – and several informational publications for physicians and their patients, but there are also exciting networking, education and leadership events provided for members throughout the year. We are a social enterprise whose main mission is carbon reduction. We carry out woodland management and arboricultural services for councils, companies and individuals, and all the timber produced is upcycled as far as possible. We produce sawn timber, firewood, and biomass woodchip. Anything that cannot be used is composted. We supply shops with bagged firewood or deliver direct to individuals and other end consumers. We supply local joiners with beautiful local hardwood. Let's make the best use of what is on our doorstep before destroying virgin forests overseas!
