Garrett Regional Medical Center is a 55-bed acute care hospital located in Western Maryland. Named a Top 20 Rural Hospital for two consecutive years by the National Rural Health Association, GRMC’s award-winning team serves patients from Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. As of July 1, 2022, GRMC became a full partner in the WVU Health System.

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary is a graduate theological school that prepares skilled, bold and articulate leaders who share the transforming love of Jesus Christ. Related to the United Methodist Church, with an ecumenical and international reach, we prepare leaders who are equipped to live and proclaim the Gospel and to teach in diverse congregations and educational settings. Our teaching and learning settings will be places of hospitality where we pursue respect and reconciliation in all encounters.

O Garriga nasceu como Jardim de Infância Branca de Neve, no dia 8 de abril de 1959. Jacarepaguá era um bairro isolado, com poucos recursos. Na época, o casal formado pela senhora Aribe e pelo doutor Fernando Garriga de Menezes, percebeu que essa seria uma forma de contribuir com o desenvolvimento da região e de atender às necessidades de estudo, ainda na pré-escola, do aluno Fernando Garriga de Menezes Filho. Em 1973 nasceu a Unidade Integrada Garriga de Menezes, que passou a oferecer todo o Ensino Fundamental. Em 1975, foi criado o Ensino Médio. Em parceria com as famílias, desde a sua fundação, o Garriga mantém como princípio básico a formação integral do aluno.
