GIEK is the Norwegian Export Credit Agency. We provide necessary financial capacity to buyers of Norwegian exports, both capital goods as well as services. By offering guarantees backed by Norway’s AAA rating we provide additional financial capacity to banks and thus access to attractive funding for their clients. In addition to export guarantees, GIEK provides guarantees for power purchase contracts in Norway and for construction of ships and offshore installations at Norwegian shipyards. GIEK is collaborating with major financial institutions in addition to Export Credit Norway. GIEK has its own board and issues guarantees on the same conditions as banks. GIEK reports to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
