Our work is aimed at developing approaches to apply and test precision medicine strategies based on genomic sequencing data. The Glasgow Precision Oncology Laboratorys purpose-built capacity, expertise and resources are aligned in order to accelerate therapeutic development from discovery right through to clinical trials. Our team work in diverse disciplines, from basic biology and chemistry through to clinical trials and surgery to translate scientific discovery to patient care in the clinic. Within the GPOL team there is significant expertise encompassing basic science, histopathology, drug development, bioinformatics, translational techniques, quality assurance and clinical trials management. Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show (GUCFS) is produced by a dedicated team of students in order to raise funds and awareness for our annual charitable partner. This year, we are proud to be supporting Glasgow's Golden Generation, a charity which works to support isolated older adults in Glasgow. Since our founding in 2014, GUCFS has raised over £128,000 for a range of local and national charities, including the Scottish Association for Mental Health, Simon Community Scotland and Glasgow Children's Hospital. With over 4000 likes on Facebook and a strong presence on campus, GUCFS has become an influential society within Glasgow University and Scotland's creative spheres. As a society, we are dedicated to championing the potential within our student body, encouraging them to innovate within the traditional framework in order to further our philanthropic activities. Throughout our fashion editorial campaigns and the show, we aim to work with Scottish photographers, make-up artists and hairdressers. This year, IN BLOOM showcased the energy of the Scottish fashion scene and beyond. Our 6th annual show raised £43,047.54 for our 2020 charitable partner, Glasgow Women's Aid. In February 2020, GUCFS produced its largest show to date in SWG3's Galvanizers, held across two nights. Promoting the spirit of community and creativity, this event featured designers such as Hannah Ennis, TomboyX, Olivia Jane Riley, Hayley McSporran and Greg Brears. Sponsorship included Sipsmith Gin, Deliveroo, Jaegermeister & Redbull. GUCFS has been published in nationwide publications including Harpers Bazaar, STV, Glasgow Online, as well as appearing on the Riverside Show, The Tab, The Skinny, The Daily Record, The Evening Times and the Scotland Re:Designed blog.

Lamberts. The Glassmaking Company. Lamberts-Glass is glass with a soul. We are the only manufacturer in Germany who still uses traditional methods to produce window glass: Mouth-blown glass is worked into flat panels in a complex procedure. We even manufacture coloured glass, so-called ‘streaky glass’ or ‘flashed glass’, by hand. Our manufacturing methods result in glass with a specific structure, making it particularly suitable for use in historic preservation or glass art. Whether it’s the magnificent windows of the Dresdner Frauenkirche or modern glass artworks in the Rockefeller Centre - Lamberts Glass adds a special touch to old and new buildings alike. Lamberts: Traditional production methods With a workforce of around 70 employees, our glassmaking company produces Lamberts-Glass in our factory in Waldsassen by hand, using a complex process. Glass is first smelted from sand, soda and lime, then coloured and finally blown into balloons. These are made into cylinders which are then reheated in the oven and finally formed into sheets. The effort is well worth it, since this method results in the production of glass with unique properties: Small air bubbles and an uneven surface form an ideal basis for historic preservation work as well as glass art. We are not only bound by tradition but also by sustainability: We obtain our materials locally and continually invest in the improvement of our processes and our technical equipment. A wealth of Irelands historical figures rest side by side in what has become Irelands Necropolis, now preserved by Glasnevin Trust. These include Michael Collins, Eamon De Valera, James Larkin, Maud Gonne MacBride, Countess Markievicz, Charles Stewart Parnell, Michael Cusack, Luke Kelly and Brendan Behan (to name a few). Glasnevin Cemetery Museum is operated by Glasnevin Trust, a not-for-profit organisation, (CHY 5849) whose aim is to continue preserving the cemetery's monuments and historic graves. Open to the public year round this interactive museum offers a fascinating view of Irelands Necropolis and the many renowned historical figures from the worlds of politics, arts and sports that rest within. Glasnevin Cemetery Museums guided Tours provide an inspiring and moving account of some of the estimated 1.5 million people buried within the walls. The tour includes a visit to Daniel OConnells Crypt beneath the iconic O'Connell Tower.
