1997 yılında Dr. Hüseyin Emin ÖZTÜRK öncülüğünde; Rasim ÜNAL, Hayrullah ÜNAL, Süleyman ÇOLAK ve Ali KANGALLI olmak üzere beş müteşebbis tarafından kurulan Gökyüzü Koleji ve Eğitim Kurumları A.Ş; 1997-1998 öğretim yılında Özel Gökyüzü İlköğretim Okulunu açmak suretiyle eğitim-öğretim hizmetlerini başlatmış oldu. Ülkemizde ismini çocukların koyduğu tek okul olan Gökyüzü İlköğretim Okulu, kısa sürede kazandığı kurumsal kimliği ile özel okullar arasında hak ettiği yerini almış, öğrenci sayısını da sürekli arttırmak suretiyle kontenjanını doldurmuş ve 1999-2000 yılında ilk mezunlarını vermiştir.
