Founded in 1983, Goodwill West Texas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting of 14 retail stores serving a 35-county area. As an organization, we empower people to help them fulfill their potential, improve the lives of their families, and contribute to the growth of our shared communities. In collaboration with a network of other local resource providers, the Goodwill West Texas team continually strives to broaden its scope of job training and career services in alignment with our core mission of providing opportunities for people with barriers to employment. Goodwill West Texas is a lot more than a place to donate used household goods and clothing. We are not “just a thrift store.” Goodwill is really about changing lives and fulfilling our mission - that’s why 87 cents of every dollar earned in our stores goes directly to our mission programs that help support our employees and members of the community. By donating your new or gently-used items and shopping in our stores, you are helping to fulfill that mission! While Goodwill West Texas is affiliated with Goodwill Industries International in name and logo, each Goodwill functions autonomously within its respective territory.

Goodwin & Mark LLPs roots date back to 1953, when our founder, John (Jack) Goodwin, was called to the BC Bar. He then began practicing law as a partner of the firm McQuarrie, Selkirk & Goodwin until 1962 when he struck out on his own as a sole practitioner. In 1970, Jack expanded his practice to include Don Mark. They formed a partnership and together established the firm name of Goodwin & Mark. Alex Sweezey joined the firm four years later and became the senior partner after Jack and Dons respective retirements. Throughout his 52-year legal career, Jack was always a student of the law. He read voraciously and practiced in an impressive range of civil and criminal areas. His opinions were sought after and highly respected by the legal community. Many partners, associates, and articled students have had the benefit of Goodwin & Mark LLPs professionalism and mentorship over the decades. The firm offers representation to both individuals and businesses throughout the Lower Mainland in a wide range of legal practice areas, including corporate and business services, civil litigation, family law, adoptions, trademarks, real estate and wills and estates. Our mission remains the same today as it was when Jack began practice in 1953: to perform service of the highest calibre while remaining active in our community. We look forward to working with you.

Goodwin is a community-based, not for profit organisation founded in 1954 when a group of Canberra citizens met to "launch a scheme for a housing settlement for aged people in Canberra"​. Now the organisation manages 449 independent living units and 360 aged care places across three sites in the ACT with assets of over $350 million dollars. Goodwin is governed by a skills based Board of Directors and managed by a senior executive team and general managers with qualifications and experience in business, health and aged care, construction, project management and government. Staff are committed to Goodwin's mission, values and vision and are dedicated to the continual improvement of aged care practices across Australia.
