Horizons Hampton Roads provides an academic, cultural and recreational enrichment program designed to encourage students to realize their full potential. Working in partnership with families, schools and communities, Horizons is committed to the development of the whole child through experiences that build problem-solving skills, foster awareness of community responsibility, and encourage life-long interest in learning. Horizons Hampton Roads is a 501(c)(3) that has been serving youth since 1999. The program follows the award-winning Horizons National model by offering an effective six-week educational enrichment program to children in grades K-8 from under-resourced communities. Children thrive in high quality, enriching environments where engaging learning opportunities foster their potential. Our community-centered approach is proven to help close the opportunity gap for children and put them on a path to success in school and in life. Horizons students who return each summer have been shown to have significantly higher rates of on time graduation and advancement to post-secondary education. Our program continues to support students into high school with career exploration and linkage to opportunities for attending college or other advanced training. Horizons Hampton Roads is a local affiliate of Horizons National, with more than 70 sites across the US.

HORIZONT is a software development company located in Munich, Germany. The company was founded in 1993 as R.O.S.E. by five OPC (until 2015 TWS, since 2015 IWS for IBM Workload Scheduler) consultants. Due to legal conflicts, the name was changed to HORIZONT in 1997. The company’s first product was OPC/Graph (then TWS/Graph, now IWS/Graph), net plan display software for TWS, which was developed together with IBM Germany. With more than 150 customers worldwide, it has become the de facto standard for TWS compatible software. Additional products include IWS/BatchAD (TWS/BatchAD), IWS/BatchCP (TWS/BatchCP) and IWS/Audit (TWS/Audit), rounding off the TWS product line. With the introduction of XINFO in 1997 (SmartIS in the US in 1999), HORIZONT took a big step into a much wider market. XINFO (SmartIS in USA and Japan) integrates with schedulers other than TWS, for example Automic (UC4), CA-7, CA-Scheduler, Control-M or ZEKE. In 2002 HORIZONT released DSN/Change and SmartJCL, which complete the product line. Since 2003 HORIZONT has had a new product, IWS/WebAdmin for IWS distributed (TWS/WebAdmin for TWS distributed), and since 2012 IWS/WebAdmin for IWS z/OS (TWS/WebAdmin for TWS z/OS). In 2012 HORIZONT developed a new groundbreaking product: ProcMan, a modern change management system for workload objects. The following ProcMan modules are available at the moment: JCL, TWS z/OS definition, TWS z/OS daily plan, free text and standard documentation. HORIZONT became part of the Beta Systems Group in December 2014.
