CASA is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Working through trained community volunteers, CASA ensures that needed services are made available to foster children while helping to move them toward safe and permanent homes. Volunteers play a vital and powerful role in the child’s life. Other organizations provide mentoring services for youths, after-school programs or medical care, but no single organization addresses the complete needs of a foster child as Hudson County CASA does. Nor does any other organization give the specialized, one-on-one attention to a foster child that a trained CASA volunteer can.

Since 1888, the Chamber has been central to building valuable relationships and providing resources to business. "We Make it Happen"​ for more than 650 businesses and organizations located in Hudson County. The Hudson County Chamber is one of the largest regional chambers in the state of New Jersey. Our membership is primarily sourced within the 12 municipalities that comprise Hudson County, but also extends across the United States to as far west as California. Any company that has an interest in doing business in Hudson County are welcome to join our growing membership. Hudson County Community College was established in 1974 when the New Jersey Board of Higher Education approved the establishment of a community college commission in Hudson County, the first of its kind in the country. The College began as a “contract” college. As one of only two such colleges in the United States, and the sole contract college in New Jersey, its goal was to offer programs to students that reflected the nature of the job market. Hudson County Community College received its official name in 1981. In the past several years, Hudson County Community College has realized unprecedented growth, with enrollment and graduation rates increasing significantly each year. Enrollment has risen from 4,129 students in 1996 to 9,400 in Fall 2011.This growth is a result of careful and thoughtful planning to (1) enlarge the depth and number of course/class offerings (including scheduling “sunrise,” weekend, and online classes), (2) enhance students’ experiences (including the establishment of a central counseling prog ram, and reorganized student activities and student government prog rams), and (3) expand the number and quality of its facilities by adding more than eight state-of-the-art buildings to the College’s campuses.

The Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development (HCOCHA/TD) is a unit of the Office of the Hudson County Executive and is proud to play an instrumental role in making the county an ever greater place to live, work and visit. Here are the key functions of the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development: PROMOTION OF THE ARTS - HCOCHA/TD is the major promoter and funder of arts and cultural organizations in Hudson County. The office administers the Local Arts Program (LAP), which each year provides funds to many of the county’s non-profit groups via a competitive process. In addition, HCOCHA/TD offers technical assistance workshops to arts organizations and individual artists. The office funds numerous film, music, arts and cultural festivals. TOURISM DEVELOPMENT - HCOCHA/TD is the main facilitator of tourism development and promotional services in Hudson County. The office maintains a dedicated tourism website - www.visithudson.org - which is a comprehensive source of information for visitors and locals alike. HCOCHA/TD also produces a monthly e-newsletter and promotes the county on all social media platforms. PROMOTION OF LOCAL HISTORY - HCOCHA/TD works to promote local history through its Hudson County History Partnership Program (HCHPP), which with the backing of the New Jersey Historical Commission, provides grants to local historical organizations and arts non-profits that present historical programming. CULTURAL EVENTS - HCOCHA/TD plans and facilitates official county civic and commemorative programs that celebrate the beautiful tapestry of ethnicities and communities that make up our populace. In addition to cultural celebrations, HCOCHA/TD hosts and curates art shows at the Brennan Gallery. FILM AND TELEVISION - HCOCHA/TD facilitates the process for requests to shoot film, television and Internet programs, movies and commercials on county property.
