Met ruim 1200 leden is de Hockeyclub Eindhoven de tweede hockeyvereniging van de stad Eindhoven. Haar wedstrijden speelt de vereniging op het sportpark Eindhoven Noord aan de Marathonloop. HC Eindhoven is in 2000 ontstaan uit een fusie van HC Racing (opgericht in 1950) en Tegenbosch. Tegenbosch is op haar beurt ontstaan uit een fusie in 1983 van HTCC (opgericht in 1927) en HTC Eindhoven (opgericht in 1942).

La fondation du HC Gottéron revêt, à n’en point douter, un côté romantique. Tout commença avec la pratique débridée du hockey par quelques ados sur les étangs de la pisciculture de la vallée du Gottéron, du nom d’un ruisseau venant se jeter dans la Sarine dans le quartier de l’Auge à Fribourg. Et ce avec un équipement de bric et de broc dont les fameux arrache-talons en guise de patins. Ils étaient six dans la cuisine de la famille Schieferdecker le 1er décembre 1937, date à laquelle fut prise la décision de fonder un club de hockey. Les noms d’Eugène Jaeger, Albert Jelk, Joseph Jelk, Jean Mulhauser, Walter Schieferdecker et Alphonse Zahno resteront à tout jamais liés à la genèse du club, officiellement admis au sein de la Ligue suisse de hockey sur glace en 1938 après que le club se fut donné des statuts et un premier président en la personne de Jean-Jacques Brohy. ************************* Zweifellos hat die Gründung des HC Gottéron eine romantische Seite an sich. Alles begann mit dem ausgelassenen Hockeyspiel einiger Jugendlicher auf den Fischzuchtteichen im Galterntal, das nach einem Bach benannt ist, der im Freiburger Stadtteil Auge in die Sarine mündet. Und das mit einer aus allen möglichen Teilen zusammengebastelten Ausrüstung, darunter den berühmten Fersenziehern als Schlittschuhe. Sie waren zu sechst in der Küche der Familie Schieferdecker am 1. Dezember 1937, als der Entscheid gefällt wurde, einen Hockey-Club zu gründen. Die Namen Eugène Jaeger, Albert Jelk, Joseph Jelk, Jean Mulhauser, Walter Schieferdecker und Alphonse Zahno blieben für immer mit der Entstehung des Clubs verbunden, der 1938 offiziell in der Schweizer Eishockey-Liga zugelassen wurde, nachdem der Club sich die Statuten und mit Jean-Jacques Brohy einen ersten Vorsitzenden gegeben hatte.
