The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by congress in 1916. Its purpose is to provide young adults an effective educational program designed to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and to develop in them personal fitness. Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters operates under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nations largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles), ages 5 through 18 in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Fulton, and Knox counties.
