The Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner, north-west London, is a fabulous addition to the national arts, cultural and educational landscape. The building itself, designed by ZMMA Architects with interior gallery design by Bright White and stunning copper lighting by Sutton Vane, is quite spectacular and while clearly new and modern looks as if it was always meant to be there in the park next to West House. There are two galleries. The Heath Robinson Gallery is a permanent exhibition which takes the visitor on a journey through Heath Robinsons life and artistic development. The Joan Brinsmead Gallery is designed to host special exhibitions. These change every three months and have proved highly popular. One of the most striking aspects of the museum is the Activity Studio which is glass-fronted, affording a wonderful view of the Memorial Park and lake. The Studio is used for a wide range of events and workshops inspired by the works of Heath Robinson under the guidance of the Museums Learning Officer. The Museum shop stocks a range of Heath Robinson and Pinner themed products together with The Makers Art, a selection of beautiful, one-off items designed and handmade by local artisans. We hope visitors will enjoy their visit to our Museum and return often as the special exhibitions change. Heath Vester earned a Bachelor's degree in fine art, with a concentration in graphic design, from University of Mobile. He grew up in the Gulf Coast region of Alabama, where the colors the landscape and the unique culture influenced both his art and his worldview. His design style is best characterized by simplicity and clean lines. Heath is currently web designer at his alma mater, and is responsible for University of Mobile's web presence. He is also co-founder and serves as senior designer for Bellum Creative Group, a Southern arts and living multimedia company. At Bellum's helm, he is passionate about growing community for creatives and solving problems with innovative thinking.
