The consumption of poultry meat is continuously growing throughout the world and for this reason Rose Poultry is an important part of the HKScan Group's business operations. Rose Poultry's home markets include, besides Denmark and Sweden, the UK. It also has extensive export markets, especially in the Middle East and South-East Asia, and also in the EU area. Denmark is globally renowned for its poultry meat and pork, and both are among the country's most important exports. Rose Poultry's solid market position in Denmark will strengthen the HKScan Group's standing as the largest poultry company in northern Europe. The Group is the market leader in poultry meat not only in Denmark, but also in Finland and Estonia. Net sales in the market area Denmark were EUR 211.7 million in 2012. Reported EBIT was EUR 15.4 million and comparable EBIT excluding non-recurring income and expenses was EUR 1.5 million. Non-recurring items consist of the property insurance compensation income of EUR 19.3 million and the write-off of the destroyed asset of EUR 5.5 million due to the fire in Vinderup.
