Et comme larsenal thérapeutique est à la fois vieillissant et insuffisant, près des 2 tiers des patients estiment que leur douleur est insuffisamment contrôlée. La douleur a également un impact très important sur la santé au travail. La douleur dorsale est la 1ère cause dincapacité dans le monde et les troubles musculo-squelettiques représentent la 1ère cause de maladie professionnelle en France. La douleur à elle-seule impacte 88 millions de journées de travail par an en France. Lutter contre la douleur est donc un véritable enjeu pour le XXIème siècle ; enjeu qui ne cesse de croître avec le vieillissement de la population ! Cest pour répondre à cet enjeu dont limpact reste sous-estimé alors quil devrait être une cause nationale, que nous nous sommes engagés à faire bouger les lignes, en créant en 2014, lInstitut Analgesia. La Fondation partenariale « Institut ANALGESIA » est la première fondation de recherche dédiée à linnovation contre la douleur. Elle sappuie sur une expertise de plus de 20 ans en recherche sur la douleur. La Fondation agit concrètement en construisant et coordonnant des programmes de soins et de recherche, avec un principe fondamental : mettre le patient au cœur de chaque projet. Nouveaux médicaments, nouvelles approches e-santé et nouvelles technologies (big data, algorithmes, machine learning), une innovation multidimensionnelle avec un unique objectif : permettre à des millions de français de retrouver une vie sans douleur !

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) was created in 2004 as a joint initiative between five public universities in the Barcelona metropolitan area to promote postgraduate training and research in international studies. We promote postgraduate training and research in the field of politics, international relations, security and development. IBEI has consolidated itself, both in Spain and abroad, as a leading graduate school and research institute. IBEI has achieved in a few years a strong international recognition, as shown by the diversity of the countries of origin of its students, the international academic networks in which it participates, or the strong scientific production of its researchers. The Institute is an associate member of APSIA, the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs.

On January 30th 2014, it has been published the Law 2/2014, of creation of the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia and suppression of the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia and the Geological Institute of Catalonia. This new institution becomes operational on February 1st 2014. Their duties are related to the competences of geodesy and cartography and about the spatial data infrastructure of Catalonia, and also the competences of promoting and carrying out the actions related to the awareness, survey and information about the soil and subsoil, as regulated by the Law 16/2005, of December 27th, on geographic information and the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia, and by the Law 19/2005, of December 27th, on the Geological Institute of Catalonia.

It specializes in the nanoscale, continually uncovering new properties, interactions, and practical applications for everyday life. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐎𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟑 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 The institute was first recognised as a Centro de Excelencia Severo Ochoa in 2014 by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades. This prestigious distinction was awarded again in 2018 and once more in 2023. ICN2 is supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where it is based. Additionally, ICN2 is a CERCA and ACER center and a founding member of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST).
