The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, is at the forefront of building capabilities and continuing professional development for an effective, innovative and responsive Training and Adult Education sector. IAL works closely and supports Adult Education professionals, businesses, human resource developers and policy makers through its comprehensive suite of programmes and services on raising capabilities and catalysing innovations in Continuing Education and Training (CET). IAL also champions research in sustaining economic performance through skills, shaping employment as well as CET decisions, and develops innovations through learning technology and pedagogy to heighten adult learning.

Genuine industrial safety must emerge from actors whose job it is to adopt and develop a true safety culture. This is ICSI's mission. The Institute for an Industrial Safety Culture (ICSI) is a non-profit association created in 2003. It is the result of a joint initiative from industry, local and regional authorities, researchers and universities who together aim to: - improve safety in businesses through an understanding of all aspects of industrial risk: technical, organisational and human. - promote an honest and open debate between at-risk businesses and civil society, through better education about risk management and improved safety. - raise awareness among all actors in society of risks and safety issues.

The Institute for Auditory Neuroscience targets the molecular anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and restoration of synaptic information processing in the auditory pathway. We aim to elucidate the specialized molecular and cellular mechanisms that enable information processing with at rates of hundreds per second over hours with submillisecond temporal precision. We combine complementary approaches to dissect the structure and function of hair cell ribbon synapses in the cochlea and of large calyceal central auditory synapses from the molecular level to systems function.

The Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) of RWTH Aachen University is Europe’s leading institute in automotive engineering and directed by Professor Lutz Eckstein.
