The Paris Institute for Advanced Study is an independent international research center in the humanities, social sciences and cognitive (neuro)science, and a partner of the major higher education establishments in the Paris area. It develops high-level research whose innovative character contributes to the understanding of the world and its transformations. The Paris IAS promotes interdisciplinary research and experimentation with new forms of intersectoral collaboration. It is supported by the Ministry of Research, Higher Education and Innovation through the RFIEA+ (French Network of Institutes for Advanced Study) Laboratory of Excellence, and by the European Commission through the FIAS (French Institutes for Advanced Study) program. The Paris IAS is also a member of the European Network of Institutes for Advanced Study (NetIAS) that promotes dialogue and cooperation between European IAS. As a home for scientific life, the Paris IAS welcomes international researchers from a variety of disciplines, facilitates their exchanges and supports their interactions with the Parisian scientific community and the extra-academic world. IEA Clean Coal Centre is the world's foremost provider of impartial information and analysis on the cleaner use of coal. We publish at least 15 reports a year on all aspects of the coal chain, including coal markets and trade, upgrading power plants, emissions, ashes and relevant environmental and energy policies. We organise various workshops each year, such as our popular MEC workshop on Multi-pollutant Emissions from Coal and one on Cofiring biomass with coal. We are a non-profit organisation, funded by member countries and sponsoring organisations.

The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme was formed in 1991. Currently the Programme is supported by 15 member countries, the European Commission, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and 16 multi-national sponsors. Funding for the Programme is provided by the members, with individual contributions forming a common pool of research funds. IEAGHG studies and evaluates technologies that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions derived from the use of fossil fuels. The Programme aims to provide its members with definitive information on the role that technology can take in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. IEAGHG takes pride in being an informed but unbiased source of technical information on greenhouse gas mitigation. The programme’s main activities are: To evaluate technologies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. To help facilitate the implementation of potential mitigation options. To disseminate the data and results from evaluation studies. To help facilitate international collaborative research, development and demonstration activities (R,D&D). The IEA Energy Technology Network comprises some 39 Technology Collaboration Programmes, or TCPs for short. The aim of the TCPs is to help to accelerate energy technology innovation by ensuring that stakeholders from both the public and private sector share knowledge, work collaboratively and, where appropriate, pool resources to deliver integrated and generate cost effective solutions.
