The Committees work to create IALA Recommendations and Guidelines which are recognised worldwide as the international standards for the implementation and operation of aids to navigation. These standards help to ensure that the movements of vessels are safe, expeditious, cost effective and harmless to the environment.

The International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts, Inc. (IALEIA) is a nonprofit professional association. IALEIA is managed by an international Board of Directors consisting of eleven elected IALEIA members, an Executive Director, several volunteer committees, and an Executive Advisory Board appointed by the President.
