Independent Schools Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Independent education. We are committed to promoting, developing and protecting the autonomy of Member Schools. We are an association providing professional services rather than an authority managing our members. The services that we provide are as diverse as our membership. Our Member Schools reflect various religious affiliations and educational philosophies. Enrolments at individual schools range from 20 students to more than 2000. There are currently 222 Independent schools in Victoria, operating on 372 campuses and educating more than 165,000 students – representing 16 per cent of Victorian school students.

The Independent Schools’ Bursars Association (ISBA) represents the collective voice of bursars, as representatives of independent schools, across the sector and the UK. It has grown considerably since its inception in 1932 and now serves approximately 1000 schools who are full or associate members of the association. The ISBA offers a network of specialist resources designed to enable senior school management staff to succeed in their roles including professional development courses, an annual conference, online guidance documentation (and model policies for schools) and a termly magazine - the Bursar’s Review. The Independent Student Association was established in 1980 as a form of students`​ protest against communism. The main fields of its activity were politics and propaganda. The ISA used to organize demonstrations and strikes. It protested against communism, injustice, lack of democracy and freedom of thought and speech. Nowadays, we are a nationwide, politically independent organization which is engaged in various aspects of students’ life: we organize conferences, develop training programmes, prepare exhibitions, organize parties, student camps, charitable events or photo competitions.
