Established in 2001, the original goal of INDEX: Design to Improve Life® was to run a traditional, large-scale design award to attract attention, tourism and investments to Denmark. However, after traveling the world for research, our two founders identified the huge potential and dire need for design to be applied to real world challenges. This is when the concept 'Design to Improve Life was born and the organisation began to focus on sustainable design that generates social, economic and environmental impact.
