Indianapolis Ballet, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing professional ballet and dance education in Indianapolis through dynamic performances and world-class training. Opened in 2006 by Founding Artistic Director Victoria Lyras, the Indianapolis School of Ballet (ISB) has become Indiana’s premier destination for professional dance instruction. Centrally located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis since its inception, ISB has proudly cultivated a culturally diverse environment designed for the continual physical, intellectual and artistic growth of all dancers. In addition to providing quality via its renowned faculty, ISB is dedicated to serving the community through various outreach programs, including free performances throughout the year, providing tuition assistance to more than 20% of its students through the ISB Scholarship Program, and promoting ballet as a teaching tool for local elementary schools through the Indy Ballet Classrooms project. In May 2017, Indianapolis Ballet, Inc. took the next step in its development by announcing plans to launch the Indianapolis Ballet professional company, the first headquartered in Indy in a dozen years. Indianapolis Ballet is currently in the midst of its third full artistic season across 2020-21. The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is proud to be one of the nations most established and dynamic musical institutions and 2018/2019 marks its 82nd Season. Among the most active symphonic choruses in the United States, this organization reaches in excess of 25,000 persons each season with more than 25 performances and a comprehensive educational/outreach program. The approximately 200 volunteer singers demonstrate the Choirs commitment to musical excellence through their talent and dedication during each forty-four-week season. The organization is led by a professional staff and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Symphonic Choir is the choral partner of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, having been founded in 1937 at the Orchestras request to perform the great choral-orchestral repertoire. Over the years, this partnership with the ISO has remained at the very core of the Choirs existence. This partnership exhibits the very best of collaborative idealstwo successfully independent arts organizations combining their strengths to create beautifully lasting musical results. In 2018, the Choir joined the ISO at The Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.) for the SHIFT: A Festival of American Orchestras. The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is proud to be one of central Indianas most established and dynamic musical institutions. The Mission of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is to inspire, entertain, educate and challenge through innovative programs and symphonic music performed at the highest artistic level Founded in 1930, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra presents and performs hundreds of concerts every year. In addition to the many classical and pops concerts in its home, the magnificent Hilbert Circle Theatre, the Orchestra is regularly heard in communities around Indiana and at Kroger Symphony on the Prairie each summer.
