O Instituto do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos (Inema) foi criado através da lei nº 12.212 de 4 de maio de 2011, promovendo a integração do sistema de meio ambiente e recursos hídricos do Estado da Bahia. O Inema tem por finalidade executar as ações e programas relacionados à Política Estadual de Meio Ambiente e de Proteção à Biodiversidade, a Política Estadual de Recursos Hídricos e a Política Estadual sobre Mudança do Clima. Cabe ao Inema atuar em articulação com os órgãos e entidades da Administração Pública Estadual e com a sociedade civil organizada, a fim de dar mais agilidade e qualidade aos processos ambientais. História O Inema foi criado a partir da junção de duas autarquias da Sema (o Instituto do Meio Ambiente – Ima, e o Instituto de Gestão das Águas e Clima – Ingá). Tanto o Ima quanto o Ingá haviam passado por alterações estruturais. O Ingá foi instituído como órgão executor da Política Estadual de Recursos Hídricos, em substituição à Superintendência de Recursos Hídricos (SRH). A mudança introduziu uma abordagem mais ágil e sistêmica, apoiada na valorização do elemento humano, para o enfrentamento das questões dos recursos hídricos na Bahia, além de ter tido uma área de atuação significativamente ampliada. Já o Centro de Recursos Ambientais (CRA) deu lugar ao Ima, cuja a finalidade foi executar a Política Estadual do Meio Ambiente garantindo o equilíbrio entre a proteção do meio ambiente e o desenvolvimento, para a sustentabilidade socioambiental.

Located at Grangemouth, some 40km west of Edinburgh, one of INEOS’ largest manufacturing sites directly employs c2000 highly skilled people.
