HOW IT ALL BEGAN..... Samuel Eales returned from the Crimean war in late 1855, and devised a strategy to manufacture the best cutlery in the world. From humble beginnings, Samuel Eales Silverware was born. The key to Samuel’s success and longevity was that he understood the needs of his customers. They demanded value, timely service and above all quality. With this in mind, Samuel would employ only the highest skilled craftsmen. The skills, techniques and manufacturing processes that expertly crafted Sheffield’s finest cutlery from the late 1850’s have been handed down from generation to generation of craftsmen to ensure the same exceptional standards. Inkerman Silver is the trading name of Samuel Eales Silverware Ltd. In 1991 the trading name changed to Inkerman Silver to honour the founder, Samuel Eales who fought in the battle of Inkerman before establishing his company. INKERMAN SILVER TODAY..... مؤسسة غير ربحية تهدف إلى نشرثقافة القراءة في اللغة العربية في المجتمع بالاضافة إلى المساهمة في رفد المحتوى العربي على الإنترنت. يعقد انكتاب حالياً 7 جلسات نقاش شهرياً ضمن 4 مجموعات مختلفة منها انكتاب أطفال. وينظم انكتاب سنوياً معرضاً للكتاب المستعمل باسم "معرض نون" قصتنا: في نهاية 2010 بدأ التفكير بإنشاء مجموعة قراءة تهدف لنشر ثقافة القراءة في المجتمعات المحلية وبخاصة ضمن فئة الشباب. أولى جلساتنا كانت في شهر شباط 2011 ، وتوالت اللقاءات لتصبح لقائين في الشهر الأول ضمن مجال الأدب والرواية، والثاني في مجال الكتب الفكرية والمنوعة. نهدف من وراء “انكتاب” إلى تشجيع القراءة باللغة العربية ونشر ثقافة القراءة في مجتمعاتنا وربما بين هذا و ذاك تطرقنا لهموم اجتماعية أو سياسية أو دينية. على صعيد آخر، نرجو أن يساهم “انكتاب” و لو بشكل بسيط في إثراء المحتوى العربي على الإنترنت. نقوم عادة بنقل مجريات جلسات النقاش عبر تويتر (@inkitab) و فيسبوك (facebook.com/inkiab) حتى يتسنى لمن لم يستطيعوا الحضور المشاركة و متابعة الأفكار المطروحة. ننطلق في جلسات “انكتاب” من أهمية التشجيع على التعبير عن الرأي، واحترام الرأي الآخر، وتفعيل التفكير النقدي التحليلي تجاه الآراء والنصوص. نؤمن في “انكتاب” بأهمية التعاون مع مؤسسات المجتمع المدني والمشاريع التي تشاركنا نفس الهم والفكرة.
