Jewish Broadcasting Service (JBS), formerly Shalom TV, is a national Jewish television network. JBS addresses the entire spectrum of Jewish life with daily news reports from Israel and live event coverage and analysis along with cultural programming of interest to the North American Jewish community. The network is a full-time HD and SD Channel. It is an English-language PBS style Jewish-oriented network and is a non profit organization produced by Jewish Education in Media (JEM). JBS broadcasts 24/7 and is offered as part of basic cable on the following television providers: Optimum, Atlantic Broadband, Blue Ridge, Century Link Prism, Google Fiber, Hotiwre, MetroCast, RCN, SECTV, Roku and on JBSTV.ORG

Our mission is to strive to embrace and involve the entire Jewish community to build Jewish pride and continuity through excellence in programming and a welcoming community campus. • The JCC's Early Childhood Center is the only Jewish oriented preschool program in Washtenaw County and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). • Camp Raanana is the JCC's outdoor summer day camp for children entering grades K-8. The camp is located on a private beachfront at Independence Lake Park and provides round trip school bus transportation from the JCC. • Kids' Konnection & Kids' Club are the JCC's daily afterschool programs for grades K-5, offering healthy snacks, homework assistance, fun projects and games, computer time, outdoor recess, holiday projects, and more. • Our SPICE programs aim to involve the expertise, wisdom, and interests of JCC seniors. We offer weekly exercise classes, discussion groups, and special presentations. • The Gelman Video Collection at the JCC offers a plethora of Jewish oriented DVDs and videos for your rental enjoyment. • The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School, hosted by the JCC, is a two year long pluralistic class that draws upon the best scholarship from all the moments of Judaism. • Gym activities at the JCC include Zumba, volleyball, callentics, and Israeli dancing. • We host children's birthday parties and also arrange for rentals of our lounges, gym, and conference rooms for B'nai Mitzvahs, meetings, lectures, conferences, and other events. • We offer enrichment classes for pre-school and elementary students in a variety of subjects, including art, sports, cooking, dance, drama, and more. • Our Judaic and cultural programs are for everyone and include the Jewish Book Festival, Jewish Film Festival, art exhibits, holiday celebrations, and special programs. There's something for everyone as we strive to inspire Jewish journeys!
individual & family services
Jewish Family & Childrens Service (JF&CS) provides quality social services to address needs in the Jewish and broader communities within Greater St. Louis. JF&CS empowers people in need to meet the challenges of daily living. JF&CS meets this need by offering a multitude of programs in five focus areas: resolving problems, protecting children at risk, maintaining elderly in their homes, supporting those in need of help with basic needs, and enhancing Jewish connections. Clinical Services serves adults with or without insurance who wish to receive individual or group counseling for mental health-related issues. JF&CS offers the Learning and Behavior Diagnostic Center to children and adolescents up to age 19, and conducts developmental and behavior assessments, and psychoeducational assessments, to address learning difficulties. School-based clinical services are also offered throughout the community. JF&CS provides the only comprehensive child abuse prevention program (CAPP) in St. Louis County and City area. CAPP identifies children at risk of abuse and neglect and provides education to children, parents and teachers with the skills to prevent or lessen the harm in the instance of an abusive event. Elderlink and its affordable in-home services offer our elders the opportunity to maintain independence in their homes longer. Elderlink provides information, referral services, advocacy, assessment and consultation to vulnerable older adults and their caregivers. The In-Home Services/Homemaker Program is customized based on each clients need and contracted out through vetted agencies within the community. The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry (HKJFP), a program of JF&CS, focuses on the most basic need, hunger. JF&CS chaplains provide spiritual and emotional comfort to Jewish elderly and/or disabled. Visits from the chaplains enhance the quality of life for isolated individuals and serve as a connection to the Jewish Community.

Our professional and experienced staff strengthens lives in times of need toward fulfilling our vision of having a community where everyone lives with dignity, security, and hope. With the support of donors and partner agencies, we reach out to youth who need support and encouragement to reach their highest potential; promote stability and wellness to families experiencing hunger and mental illness; and assist older adults with the help they need to manage their independence and live the best quality life possible. Jewish Family Service is a 501(c)3 nonprofit social service agency that serves all individuals without regard to religion, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, or ability to pay. We partner with the Jewish Federation Cincinnati, The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, and United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
