Traditionsreiche und innovative Hochschule im Herzen Karlsruhes. Die Hochschule Karlsruhe – Technik und Wirtschaft bietet Studiengänge in den Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, in Wirtschafts- und Mediendisziplinen an. Das gesamte Studienangebot ist sechs Fakultäten zugeordnet: Architektur und Bauwesen, Elektro- und Informationstechnik, Informatik und Wirtschaftsinformatik, Informationsmanagement und Medien, Maschinenbau und Mechatronik sowie Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Neben der Lehre kommt vor allem der Forschung eine große Bedeutung zu. Sie ist eine Kernkompetenz und damit profilbildendes Element für die Hochschule. Die wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung nimmt ebenso einen wichtigen Stellenwert ein, womit die Hochschule ihren gesetzlichen Auftrag erfüllt. Der Campus liegt zentral in fußläufiger Nähe zur Stadtmitte, in direkter Randlage zum Hardtwald. Der Ausbau der Hochschule und die Erweiterung des Studienangebots in den vergangenen Jahren machten ein Ausweichen auf andere Außenstelle notwendig. So befinden sich derzeit für den Studienbetrieb nahe gelegene Außenstelle in der Amalienstraße und der Hoffstraße, einzelne Institute sind außerdem in der Daimlerstraße und der Hertzstraße untergebracht. In Bruchsal, auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen International University, unterhält die Hochschule Karlsruhe gemeinsam mit der SEW-Eurodrive einen Forschungscampus zur Elektromobilität, das Institut für Energieeffiziente Mobilität (IEEM).

The main aim of Karlstad University is to provide broad-based, multidisciplinary programmes for students in Sweden and visiting students from abroad, while developing strong areas of research. The University is located on one campus offering a modern and stimulating environment. The architecturally inspiring library lies at the heart of the campus providing a much appreciated study environment for about 12,500 students. In 2009, a new exciting building, Vänern, was inaugurated which reflects our high ambitions for education and research. The University also has a campus in Arvika, about 90 km from Karlstad, where the Ingesund School of Music with its 300 students is located.
