After more than 15 years of working in a pediatric emergency department, the physician owners of KidMed embarked on a mission to find a better way to care for sick and injured children. At the time, pediatric urgent care was a fairly new concept around the country. We mapped out a plan for an innovative after-hours pediatric urgent care practice in Richmond, VA, and, in 2009, KidMed was born. Through the incredible work of a very talented and dedicated staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, patient care techs, X-ray technologists, lab techs, front office and administrative staff, KidMed has grown to four locations. There are three locations in the Richmond, VA area (West End, Southside, and Mechanicsville) and a fourth location in Stafford, VA. We aim to continue to offer our patients and their parents excellent care delivered by our pediatric trained staff with compassion, convenience and affordable cost. Situations requiring urgent care can be stressful for children and their parents. KidMed is here to help.
