Klaipedos Smelte is a modern and thrusting container terminal controlled by Terminal Investment Ltd and focused on catering ships of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the world's leading container shipping line. The terminal provides handling and storage of containers, heavy-lift & project cargo, also container freight station operations and certified empty container depot services. In 2023 560.000 TEU were handled by Klaipedos Smelte, including transhipment cargo for the neighboring countries of the Baltics and Scandinavia. MSC Ingy, a containership of 19.500 TEU and L.O.A.=400 m, is the largest vessel ever accommodated by the terminal.

Established in 1980 as a family-focused children’s mental health clinic, Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH) has grown into the largest behavioral health provider for children, adolescents, adults, and families in southern Oregon. A private, non-profit corporation, KBBH serves the Klamath Basin through a comprehensive array of evidence-based and family-focused behavioral health services. Our innovative programs are delivered by a passionate team of experts who are committed to improving the quality of our customers' lives. Our diverse range of integrated service delivery includes instant access to 24-hour crisis support, walk-in screenings and mental health assessments, psychiatric assessments and medication management, residential and respite programs for adults and adolescents, individual and family counseling, substance use disorder treatment, home-based services, parent-child interaction therapy, day treatment for school-aged children, batterer’s intervention, adjudicated sex offender treatment, case management, peer support, school-based services, and multiple focused treatment groups. In addition to operating under fee-for-service agreements with multiple private health plan providers, KBBH offers sliding scale and reduced fee agreements and provides contractual services to those eligible for the Oregon Health Plan. We proudly partner with additional funding organizations including Klamath County Commission on Children and Families, Juvenile Crime Commission, Oregon Department of Human Services, and various private foundations. Klamath Community College (KCC) is a public two-year institution serving Klamath and Lake counties in South Central Oregon. The College’s two-county service area covers more than 14,000 square miles, with a combined population of approximately 74,000. Although many technological and geographic barriers to obtaining a college education exist in Klamath and Lake counties, KCC is committed to ensuring community college is accessible to everyone, even those in the most rural areas. KCC was founded in 1996 and is Oregon’s youngest community college. KCC is an open-access institution that serves students from a wide variety of economic and social backgrounds. KCC's programs largely focus on workforce development and preparing degree and certificate earners for careers in high-wage, high-demand fields. KCC students can learn on campus in Klamath Falls, at the Lakeview, Ore., Innovation and Learning Center, or at one of six regional high schools to which KCC delivers live courses using synchronous technology. KCC also offers six online degrees and certificates that allow students to complete courses around busy life and work schedules. As a result of a recent partnership between KCC and Southern Oregon Goodwill, the Klamath Center for Education & Training (K-CET) was opened in Klamath Falls. The center is designed to address adult educational needs in Klamath and Lake counties. Through the center, adults ages 18 and older can enroll in GED, college prep adult basic education (ABE) and English as a second language (ESL) classes. To provide more options for student who cannot afford to leave South Central Oregon for education, KCC has cemented articulation agreements with Oregon State University, Southern Oregon University, Linfield University, and Eastern Oregon University that allow students to pursue bachelor’s degrees through KCC. KCC also offers non-credit certifications in phlebotomy, medical assistant, and dental assistant.

KCFD1 provides fire protection to a 192 square mile area that includes the City of Klamath Falls and surrounding suburban and rural areas. In addition, KCFD1 is assigned an Ambulance Service Area of an additional 300 square miles and provides ALS transport within the total area. There are currently 60 line personnel assigned to four (4) engine companies and three (3) ambulance crews that respond from four (4) active fire stations. In 2017, KCFD1 responded to 7440 emergency calls for service, of which 78% were medical related.
