With rapidly increasing temperatures around the globe, air con systems are becoming a necessary appliance for many households. Ironically, they contribute to environmental problems that increase the need for air cons in the first place. It does not have to be like that. Meet KLIMA. KLIMA AC is the next-generation, customizable 3D printed air con system that improves performance and reduces energy consumption. Most air cons on the market are made out of non-recyclable materials. They are costly in production and maintenance, they consume a lot of energy and on top of that, most are noisy and considered a somewhat ugly home appliance. We re-imagined air con system to achieve overall efficiency and lower the negative impact on the environment. Klima is manufactured using recycle-able 3D Printed parts, allowing us to create more attractive and personalized designs while reducing the overall production costs and environmental footprint. Klima Action Malaysia (KAMY) is a women-led climate justice and feminist organisation, addressing climate and environmental justice with a strong focus on women empowerment. We raise awareness and build movements by engaging state and non-state actors to promote rights-based approaches of a just and equitable world, grounded in decolonisation frameworks. In these areas, we collaborate with marginalised communities, especially women, Indigenous Peoples, and youth, to actively participate in climate governance and decision-making processes. Our initiatives include advocating for policy and legal reform, such as Malaysia's declaration of a climate emergency, and recognising environmental rights within the constitution. We're also committed to coalition building and are founding members of Malaysia's Climate Emergency Coalition (GDIMY) and the climate crisis thematic lead in the Asia Feminist Coalition to amplify gender-responsive climate solutions. KAMY is currently serving on the advisory panel for climate change under Malaysia's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (NRES) and actively engaging with Malaysia's Member of Parliament on gender responsive climate governance. By decolonising knowledge creation to foster resilience, we address gender disparities and dismantle systemic oppression that perpetuates the climate crisis. As a registered organisation from 2020, we concentrate on six synergistic key areas within our human rights-based approach: Indigenous People, Gender and Women Empowerment, Business and Human Rights, Climate Communication, and Just Energy Transition and Legal Empowerment. Currently we have 8 staff working on several programs under the six key areas mentioned above.
