KOSIT is a technologically innovative company providing professional services in the field of waste management for the municipal, industrial and commercial sector, but also for individual customers. It is one of the most significant services providers in Slovakia dealing with this demanding and socially sensitive industry. Nowadays several companies with nearly 600 employees belong to KOSIT Group. In 2017, the Group reached turnover of more than 33 million EUR at the asset value of 79 million EUR. .KOSIT deals with waste from 540,000 inhabitants of Slovakia and provides waste management services for more than 500 commercial customers. Employees of the Division of Services perform more than 150,000 handlings per month. In 2017, the group disposed more than 223,000 tonnes of waste, and through the Waste to Energy plant in the city of Košice, it produced 45 GWh of electricity and 150,000 GJ of heat . That represents heat for 2,800 households and electricity for nearly 20,000 households. KOSIT has been using quality management system, holds ISO 9001 and 14001 quality management certifications and OHSAS 18001 for a number of years. Except for comprehensive waste management services for both the public and the commercial sector, KOSIT also provides services in the field of summer and winter road maintenance, landscaping, as well as consultancy related to environmental legislation. Since its origin, KOSIT has been intensively involved in environmental education. The Environmental Education Centre (CEV), founded in 2007, offers adventure education for children, teenagers and adults in the field of environmental protection, waste treatment and recovery. Since 2007, almost 50.000 pupils from the city of Kosice visited CEV. Activities are prepared with respect to age, habits, abilities and personal skills with a preference of interactive communication to allow visitors to react immediately. The Environmental Education Centre also provides a professional excursion around premises of the WtE plant in Kosice. Vedle tištěných knih v knihkupectví najdete i velký výběr e-knih a audioknih.
