The Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department (AD) unites aging, disability, and community services previously part of the Chief Executive Office and the now dissolved Department of Workforce Development, Aging, and Community Services. AD houses the LA County Commission for Older Adults and the Commission on Disabilities along with 14 local community hubs that provide a wide range of in-person services.

The LA Derby Dolls is Los Angeles' premier all-female, banked track roller derby league. It was founded in October 2003 by Rebecca Ninburg (a.k.a.Demolicious) and Wendy Templeton (a.k.a. Thora Zeen). The LA Derby Dolls is a league made up of more than 150 adult and junior skaters and volunteers, divided into teams who skate on a banked track. Embodying the do-it-yourself ethos of modern roller derby, as resurrected in Austin, Texas in 2000, the Derby Dolls are an entirely volunteer-run organization, relying on the support of their fans and community. The Derby Dolls haven taken all the thrills of the old game and updated it with a fresh and feisty new face. The hits and spills are 100% real. No script can write this kind of action.

The Community Development Commission (CDC) is a dynamic, innovative agency created in 1982 by the Board of Supervisors with the core purpose to "Build Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods." The CDC is charged with facilitating affordable housing and economic and community development activities in participating cities and the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Funded primarily with federal grants, the CDC is an industry leader in sponsoring new solutions and forming strategic partnerships with private and public agencies.
