Il fondatore di Guam - Lacote, Egidio Siena, giunse nel porto di Brest in Bretagna; qui vide barche colme di alghe marine raccolte dai pescatori locali dai fondali dell’Oceano Atlantico. Le alghe, distese poi sui campi adiacenti al mare, venivano essiccate al sole e al vento oceanico. Una volta essiccate, venivano portate nei mulini e macinate finemente diventando così una farina denominata "fior fiore d’Alga". Dal grande amore per il mare e dall'esperienza nel campo della cosmesi, Egidio Siena partendo da questo fior fiore d’Alga, elaborò una formulazione arricchita anche con estratti vegetali ed altri ingredienti naturali fino ad ottenere un fango che racchiudeva in sé tutte le proprietà di questo prezioso ORO VERDE. Così nacquero i Fanghi d'Alga Guam, da allora utilizzati e apprezzati in tutto il mondo. Lacote raccoglie le alghe con lo "scoubidou", uno strumento di raccolta tradizionale che non recide il tallo dell'alga, la parte ancorata al fondale marino, garantendo un rinnovo continuo di questa risorsa così preziosa.
