In 2003, Texas adopted major tort reform and in 2007 job growth in Texas was 300% the rate of job growth in New York. Business leaders have identified lawsuit reform as a significant contributing factor leading to the success of Texas. Startlingly, much of our efforts in New York to make the system better get distracted as the powerful lawyer lobby and their allies in the New York State legislature keep on coming up with schemes to make New Yorks legal system even worse.
