Helping families achieve independence and economic stability by providing life-changing resources, including mental wellness, education, employment services, and safe, affordable, sustainable housing.

We are on a mission to equip community changemakers to grow their ability to lead, collaborate, and drive solutions. We develop and run high-quality leadership development and renewal programs. Each of our programs offers a cohort of people the opportunity to come together to grow, reflect, and build a mutually-supportive peer learning community. Our programs are intended to help leaders develop their ability to advance their important missions and support them in sustaining their passion and commitment over the years. By doing so, we aim to help offset the severe and chronic underinvestment in human resources that epitomizes the nonprofit sector. We offer four main programs currently: COURAGE TO LEAD - supports renewal, leadership and peer community in a retreat setting for experienced nonprofit executive leaders. The program serves participants from all over, but primarily from California. Retreats are held in Santa Barbara. EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM - empowers, elevates and connects the next generation of professional nonprofit leaders in Santa Barbara County. LEADING FOR COMMUNITY IMPACT - assembles a select cohort from northern Santa Barbara County of seasoned social sector leaders and rising stars with great potential and guides them through a rigorous, relevant and applied curriculum. KATHERINE HARVEY FELLOWS - develops talented and motivated future community leaders in Santa Barbara County. Through investing in leaders and building authentic community among them, Leading From Within is helping to build the capacity of the nonprofit sector, nurture and sustain committed community leaders, and develop the next generation of engaged and involved citizens.
