Leehurst Swan has been inspiring and educating pupils for 100 years. We are the only independent school in Salisbury offering education for girls and boys from ages 4 to 16. The benefits of an all through education are widely recognised, eliminating the problems of transfer between the stages of education. We are a school for students aged between 13 and 19. Our catchment serves mainly the eastern side of Leek and much of the Staffordshire Moorlands, with around half our students coming from the town and half from the rural areas. Our academic performance is good and improving. We are a school with a strong sense of community, where students are happy and safe. We encourage every student to aim high and accept no limits. Students are treated as individuals; we recognise and celebrate different abilities and interests and believe that everyone can fulfil their potential through dedication and hard work. Our most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2015 confirmed that Leek High, “…continues to be good”. Inspectors noted that, “Teachers are committed to enabling all pupils to make the progress they should” and “Pupils make strong progress across virtually all subjects, but particularly in English and mathematics”. Our students are caring, creative and committed young people superbly supported by a committed staff team. The school’s pastoral system supports academic progress by providing personalised guidance and intervention. Above all it is the hard work energy and humour of students and staff that makes our school such an inspiring learning environment.
