Lignacite Ltd was founded in 1947. The early years were based on producing a single product called Lignacite, a revolutionary mix of cement, sand and recycled wood shavings. These blocks were made by hand and packed individually in straw. They were delivered locally and were predominantly used in the construction of agricultural buildings. We now operate from two highly mechanised, modern plants at Brandon in Suffolk and Nazeing in Essex. From a single product, we now offer a high-quality range of sustainable concrete blocks. Our products have been used in projects such as The Gherkin, The Shard, The Olympic Stadium, Canary Wharf and both Heathrow and Stansted airports.
