McSence Group, an award-winning community business and Social Enterprise, was formed in 1988. This was in response to the devastating effects of pit and factory closures which affected the communities of Mayfield and Easthouses in Midlothian. Incorporated as a charity, the group has grown to provide a wide range of services spanning Care, Training and Property. Around 250 people are now employed, delivering services in Midlothian, Edinburgh, East Lothian and the Borders. Turnover had reached £1.9m by 2016. This success has been recognised by several awarding bodies.
