The Media Council of Kenya is an independent national institution established by the Media Act, 2007 as the leading institution in the regulation of media and in the conduct and discipline of journalists. Council membership is drawn from media stakeholders including the Media Owners Association, Kenya Union of Journalists, Kenya Correspondents Association, Kenya Editors Guild, Public Relations Society of Kenya, Kenya News Agency, Private and Public Universities, the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and the Law Society of Kenya. Vision A society where media freedom is respected,upheld,protected and maintained and where journalists and media practitioners are professional and responsible. Mission To promote media freedom and professionalism as well as arbitrate media disputes and educate the public and journalists about the media and its role in society. To ensure effective implementation of the above, the Council will keep a register of all journalists and media enterprises operating in Kenya.

Media Design School is New Zealand’s most awarded tertiary institute for digital and creative technology qualifications. The school is currently ranked amongst the top 3 schools in the world to provide VFX/Animation and Game Development qualifications by the Autodesk sponsored CG Student Awards. Better yet, in 2016, MDS was recognised as the world’s top tertiary provider for both Graphic Design and Photography by The Rookies'​ panel of internationally renowned judges, making it one of the best digital design tertiary providers globally. MDS is the only school in New Zealand to have partnered with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s PlayStation First Academic Development Programme, giving our students the opportunity to develop games for the PlayStation platform and evidences industry recognition of the quality of our programmes. It is also currently Unity Technology’s first and only Training and Certification Partner in New Zealand, which means that all future graduates of the Bachelor of Creative Technologies and the Bachelor of Software Engineering will have the opportunity to graduate as Unity Certified Developers. In October 2016, MDS became the first tertiary provider in New Zealand to offer a qualification with a dedicated stream focusing on two of the world’s biggest emerging technologies: Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (VR/AR).
