MediKredit is an independent information technology company providing on-line real-time(OLRT) management of healthcare transactions to both funders and providers of healthcare. MediKredit owns proprietary real time claims switching technology called HealthNetST and directly contracts with provider Practice Management System Vendors to manage the submission of claims against industry standards as well as to manage the responses from claims processing back into the provider practice. Our dynamic healthcare claims processing and managed care services are designed to accommodate our clients’ unique benefit designs and processing needs. It is estimated that MediKredit’s products affect 4.2 million of the 8.5 million health-insured lives in South Africa. We also service the claims-processing needs of 91 medical schemes plans and 15 of the big healthcare administrators nationally. Our functionality caters for all healthcare claim types which include pharmacy, doctor, private and public hospital claims. MediKredit’s Healthcare Claims Management tool can process over a million claims every day in real-time while managing the financial risks for schemes and assessing members’ needs and limitations. MediKredit has undertaken to facilitate the adoption of NAPPI (National Pharmaceutical Product Interface) as a national electronic standard on behalf of the South African healthcare industry.
