The Melbourne Chamber of Commerce brings together Victoria’s most influential companies, business leaders, influencers and political figures at local, state and federal level to impact policy, exchange ideas and lead Victorian business into the future. We are an independent, professional association for medium to large organisations who want to be connected. We offer our members opportunities to develop new networks and showcase their innovations and practices to an influential group with a view to grow and improve their businesses and the business environment. Our members are drawn from diverse sectors and include organisations such as Boeing, ANZ, KPMG, AFL, Equip Super, Port of Melbourne, McConnell Dowell, Minter Ellison, University of Melbourne, VicTrack, Valcorp, Accenture, Melbourne Airport and Cabrini Health. Affiliations The Melbourne Chamber of Commerce is part of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Key components of the business include Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), Victoria Events Industry Council (VEIC), and Victorian Chamber Global. The Victorian Chamber is Victoria’s most influential employer group, servicing over 15,000 Victorian businesses year. The Australian Chamber is Australia’s peak council of business organisations and the voice of enterprise and industry, speaking for over 350,000 businesses nation-wide. The Australian Chamber’s National Member Network connects industry, governments, regulators and influential policy forums which influence business domestically and abroad. A performance by Melbourne Chamber Orchestra reflects the city’s independent spirit and distinctive cultural identity. Under the artistic direction of legendary Australian violinist William Hennessy, this vibrant orchestra captivates audiences with its world-class artistry, dynamic stage presence and stimulating programming from the vast chamber music repertoire. Founded in 1995 as Australia Pro Arte Orchestra, MCO has a core of string players drawn from Melbourne’s outstanding community of orchestral artists. The orchestra presents an annual series of concerts in the world-renowned acoustic environment of the Melbourne Recital Centre and in 2014, will commence a weeknight city series at the Deakin Edge in Federation Square. Recent highlights included performing in the world premiere of Deborah Cheetham’s Indigenous opera Pecan Summer and a festival conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. We take great pride in being an orchestra for all Victorians, using our size and artistic agility to delight audiences outside central Melbourne. Our regular touring to metropolitan and regional locations has seen MCO perform over 50 concerts outside Melbourne since 2008. MCO also offers an innovative education programs in selected Victorian centres. In addition to Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the MCO organisation also operates two other distinct ensembles, Australian Octet (an ensemble for music for 5 to 8 players) and MCO Virtuosi (a Baroque and Classical consort). http://www.mco.org.au
