A highly regarded, independent and thriving Montessori school with campuses in Brighton & Caulfield for students from pre-school to Year 12. Our school caters for children from 18 months (parent and toddler program) right through to Senior School where our students graduate with an International Baccalaureate (IB) or can select the Montessori Careers Program. The Montessori method is founded on the idea that children learn best when they are free to explore and learn at their own pace, in an environment that is specifically prepared and designed to support their development. In a Montessori classroom, children are encouraged to be self-directed learners and to take an active role in their own education. The teacher serves as a guide and facilitator and provides a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters creativity, independence, and a love of learning. Melbourne Montessori College has been awarded The Educator’s Most Innovative School for two years in a row. If you are looking for small classes, individualised learning and a nurturing school, please contact us. Melbourne Montessori College - preparing young people for life.

Melbourne Montessori School (MMS) is an independent, co-educational environment currently catering for children from 18 months of age (walking) to 16 years of age. There are two campuses, one in Caulfield South and the other in Brighton East. Classes are multi-age, giving each child the opportunity to learn from others and the flexibility to develop their personality at their own pace, both socially and intellectually. As a result, our students develop a life-long passion for learning. All environments provide appropriate outdoor spaces and Montessori materials for children and adolescents at each developmental level, allowing students to fully experience their surroundings and take responsibility for their own education. The Montessori approach supports the full development of the individual and offers a broad vision of education as an aid to life. The MMS curriculum follows the Montessori National Curriculum and is recognised by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA). It caters to the developmental needs and interests of the child or adolescent, teaching the same basic skills as traditional schools through a rigorous academic program. Most of the subject areas are familiarsuch as math, science, history, geography, and languagebut they are presented through an integrated approach that brings separate strands of the curriculum together.
