MAPA was created in 1967 under the terms of an interlocal agreement to provide a forum for coordinating local planning and development activities. As an organization of local governments, we exist to help member governments address problems that are regional in scope and may cross jurisdictional boundaries. We perform multimodal transportation planning and collaborate with local governments and public agencies on community planning. We bring local government officials from across the region together to address mutual and overlapping concerns in the areas of transportation, solid and hazardous waste, community and economic growth and development, air quality, energy and data. The Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) is the only organization in Greenville, South Carolina working daily to support every discipline of the arts. MAC provides support to area arts organizations and many individual artists through its grants program, through its cultural planning process, by advocating on behalf of all artists and arts groups, and by providing cooperative marketing opportunities promoting arts groups that might not have resources available to them. The mission of the Metropolitan Arts Council is to stimulate and support artistic expression and its appreciation and enjoyment in ways that enrich all citizens, artists, cultural organizations and communities of the Greenville County. We accomplish this by providing funding and other vital services to individual artists, arts organizations and arts education programs that greatly impact the economic well being of the community. MAC’s vision is a vision for the community, and MAC will be Greenville County’s trusted and visionary champion of the arts. Our role is to gather support from the community and provide it to member arts organizations – with the outcome being a nationally recognized arts environment enjoyed and patronized by an ever-growing and constantly diversifying regional audience.

The MET is a multi-site church in Northwest Houston. We strongly believe in relational discipleship, and connecting with others in small groups. ------------------------------- History Over 40 years ago, people of faith and sacrifice pursued Gods vision to make a place for people to connect with Jesus Christ and each other. In 1965, 15 families began what was known then as Fellowship Baptist Church. They secured four acres of land, and voted to begin building the first building. Over the next five years, these families made a place for almost 300 new members. In 1970, the church dedicated its new sanctuary. Two years later, another building was completed, and we purchased ten additional acres of land to continue making a place for people. With over 1,100 people involved in our church we became known as the fastest growing church in the Gulf Coast region. By 1985, we built and dedicated our current Worship Center. Each time as God provided a place for us, still more people came. In 1998, we finalized the Atrium. It is home to The MET Kids Ministry, Lamb School Preschool, Small Groups and more. In 2013 we opened our second campus, located in the Cypress area at Fry and Tuckerton. The MET is now 1 church in 2 locations. What began with 15 families has grown to over 8,000 members. There are countless souls who have been transformed eternallysimply because 15 families obeyed God and made a place for them. Today, that vision remains the same. This passion to make a place for people fueled our churchs growth over the next 15 years. In 1982, the church was named Metropolitan Baptist Church and known in the community as The MET.
