Moombarriga Geoscience is a Perth-based company committed to providing high quality geophysical data for the discovery of new mineral and energy deposits. In 2005 Shane Evans set up Moombarriga Geoscience in Perth, Western Australia with the aim to become a specialist MT geophysical contractor. Moombarriga is a Noongar (Nyungar) word for Cherry Tree and Cherry Tree Farm is the name of Shanes family farm at Wagin in southern Western Australia. In 2008 Moombarriga purchased 4 Phoenix recorders and acquired its first commercial MT dataset for KUTH Energy. Since that time Moombarriga Geoscience has acquired over 3000 MT sites for both Energy and Mineral interests; the client list includes Universities, many Geological Surveys and other government agencies, exploration companies and several Geoscience companies throughout Australia and the World. Moombarriga now runs 20 data recorders and has an office in Ottawa, Canada. In 2018, Moombarriga made the decision to move into the IP industry and purchased Search Exploration Services. Searchs proprietary hardware and software will put Moombarriga in powerful position to provide IP service in Australia and internationally. Magnetotellurics Magnetotelluric (MT) surveys are used to map variations in the electrical resistivity of the subsurface. Because the MT method can see deep into the earth, the technique can be applied to many different commodities on different scales. Moombarriga Geoscience provides high quality MT data in the frequency range of 10,000Hz 0.00025 Hz. We provide services for Mineral Exploration Geothermal Exploration Oil and Gas Exploration Regional Mapping Crustal and Lithospheric Mapping Induced Polarisation and Resistivity The Induced Polarisation and Resistivity (IP/RES) method maps the electrical resistivity but also ability of the Earth to hold charge (chargeability). A transmitter is used inject current into the Earth and receiving electrodes are used to resolve resistivity and chargeability measurements. Zones of high chargeability are often associated with the presence of disseminated sulphides. IP is used for the exploration of gold, copper, VMS and manganese. Through the process of inversion, 2D section and 3D volumes are created from which drill holes can be targeted. Processing and Modelling Moombarriga Geoscience offers consulting services for the processing, modelling and interpretation of acquired data. We work closely with the client to ensure that the maximum amount of information is extracted from each dataset.
