Norwich Ventures is a specialized venture capital firm focused on early-stage MedTech. We invest in entrepreneurs developing game-changing technologies that solve large unmet medical needs. We provide initial capital in seed and early-stage rounds and approach each investment with a long-term perspective.

At first glance, it might look like we sell quality new and used machinery to farmers, contractors and construction businesses all over the country. And we do. But that’s really just the tip of the iceberg. Since 1948, we’ve been helping farmers prepare their land and harvest their crops; raise their livestock, manage feed and handle effluent. At the same time, we’ve also been helping commercial operators create the infrastructure which drives New Zealand, and helping Kiwis develop and maintain rural and semi-rural properties all around the country. The Norwood Housing Authority was established in 1948 to provide and maintain affordable housing for low and moderate income persons and families. The Norwood Housing Authority owns and manages five low income housing developments in Norwood. Four of the developments were built to house elderly and handicapped persons. In total, there are 403 one bedroom apartments in these developments. The NHA has one family development, Washington Heights, which consists of 75 apartments of two and three bedroom units. The Norwood Housing Authority also administers over 340 Federal Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. The HCV program is operated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The program offers rent subsidies to persons of low income, which allows them to acquire apartments in private developments or houses. Program participant pays 30% of their adjusted income and the NHA pays the difference between the amount and the monthly rent. In 2010, Norwood Housing Authority was awarded the Outstanding Agency Award by the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials for the rehabilition on Jefferson Drive at the Washington Heights site and for the Greenhouse Project at the Kevin Maguire Housing site.

Norwood Life Society is a non-profit society that oversees operations at Norwood Crossing (residential assisted living community, skilled nursing, rehab/respite, memory support), Norwood Seniors Network (community outreach, in-home care management, home delivered meals, emergency response, transportation, Norwood Park Senior Center), Norwood Life Care Foundation (fundraising, special events, volunteers) and norVOLution (community volunteer opportunities). We have been serving seniors in Norwood Park since 1896. We are committed to our mission of enhancing the independence and well-being of older adults. We are located in the heart of Norwood Park and serve as the community’s largest employer. Our organization is dedicated to Reshaping Aging™ in the lives of senior adults.
